Tom Wilson had been goalless to start the 2019-20 season until a shorthanded break on Thursday night gave him his chance.
It was a purdy, purdy goal.
While Garnet Hathaway served time for interference, Chandler Stephenson helped Wilson through neutral. With possession, Wilson drove towards the net. He had the option to pass to Stephenson but called his own number instead, beating Rinne with a wrist shot.
Great release here.

During intermission, Wilson said he was “lucky it went in.”
"Wanted to shoot one, wanted to keep it simple, lucky it went in."

Wilson’s goal also marked Chandler Stephenson’s first point of the season.
