Adam Eaton is doing TJ Oshie’s through-the-jersey beer chug at the Capitals game

It was bound to happen. Washington Nationals outfielder Adam Eaton performed the Ritual of Champions before Sunday’s game against the Calgary Flames.

In front of the Caps, Eaton spoke the Sacred Words, “Let’s go, boys.” He then flipped his jersey over his face and poured a Bud Light through the jersey and into his mouth.

The room erupted in Solemn Applause.

The Capitals had Ryan Zimmerman announce the starting lineup in the locker room before the game. Once he finished, Adam Eaton walked into the room with the Commissioner’s Trophy and a new “hard hat” that the team can award at the end of games – an authentic Nationals’ batting helmet.

Oshie was first spotted performing the Oshie chug at a Nats game following the Caps’ 2018 Championship. Ryan Kerrigan performed it at a Caps game earlier in 2019. Now Eaton brings the circle full.

Later in the first period, after Jakub Vrana scored his second goal of the game, Eaton did it again in the Nationals’ Capital One Arena suite.

Celebrate responsibly.
