The Washington Capitals will host the Washington Nationals at Capital One Arena on Sunday to honor the World Series champs.
The Capitals said in a press release that members of the team, as well as the Commissioner’s Trophy, will be in attendance for a pregame ceremony.
The game is on November 3 against the Calgary Flames at 7 PM.
The Nationals previously hosted the Capitals at Nationals Park to celebrate their 2018 Stanley Cup championship – their first as a franchise. Alex Ovechkin threw out the first pitch (twice) while members of the Capitals and Nationals took a team photo together on the field.
There was, of course, more awesome from the game. Nicklas Backstrom made a Russian machine never breaks joke to Ovechkin during the team’s press conference. The Capitals sang We Are The Champions and downed multiple beers on live television. Jakub Vrana invited a 10-year-old fan into the team’s luxury box and Capitals players helped him raise Stanley Cup. TJ Oshie got RMNB’s The Djoos is loose shirt for Christian Djoos on the way to the stadium.
Most of the Capitals appeared, uh, in bad shape on the field. We’ll see how sloppy the Nats are Sunday night!
