The two players’ heads collided. Panik immediately left the ice after the play. Siegethaler fought through the rest of his shift before getting off the ice.

He could be seen grimacing on the bench.

Both players were eventually ushered to the locker room where the Capitals announced they had upper-body injuries and would be lost for the rest of the game.

Siegenthaler also had to go to the locker room and go through concussion testing after absorbing this high hit from Nathan MacKinnon on Monday.

Siegenthaler would pass the test and be healthy enough to practice Tuesday.
