TJ Oshie makes wager with former St. Louis Blues teammate Barret Jackman over NLCS outcome

After a nailbiting Game Five of the NLDS, the Washington Nationals won a playoff series for the first time in franchise history and advanced to the NLCS. But there’s more riding on the outcome of the series between the Nationals and the St. Louis Cardinals than advancing to the World Series.

Retired former Blues defenseman Barret Jackman reached out to TJ Oshie via Twitter to propose a wager over who the winner would be.

Oshie did not take much convincing. The two former teammates quickly came to terms, with the winner set to walk away with a round of golf and dinner on the loser.

Not everyone from the DC sports teams is standing united behind the Nationals. Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal will be cheering for his hometown Cardinals instead. Beal also supported the Blues during the 2018-19 Stanley Cup playoffs, once the Capitals were out of contention.

Game One of the NLCS is Friday at 8pm in St. Louis.
