Alex Ovechkin throws out first pitch at Nationals Park before Game Four of NLDS

Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin threw out the ceremonial first pitch before Game Four of the NLDS between the Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers. And unlike last time, he didn’t need two pitches to actually hit the plate.

Ovechkin threw the pitch to huge hockey fan and RMNB Instagram follower Adam Eaton.

Ovechkin chatted with Eaton and hugged Ryan Zimmerman by the dugout before taking his way to the mound.

“Joining us tonight to throw out the ceremonial first pitch, he’s a 10-time All-Star selection and eight-time NHL leading goal scorer,” Nationals PA announcer Jerome Hruska began. “In 2018, he was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player in the NHL’s Stanley Cup Finals. Entering his 15th NHL season, all here in Washington DC, the captain of your Washington Capitals, Alexander Ovechkin!”

The roar from the crowd was deafening.

“Let’s go!” Ovechkin said while holding up his baseball to the Capitals. “Let’s go Nats!”

The Dodgers lead the best of five series 2-1.
