There’s something so innocent and pure about Jakub Vrana. And those qualities popped up again during his second intermission interview with NBC Sports Washington’s Craig Laughlin on Sunday.
Laughlin first asked Vrana a question about how intense the game was. “There’s a lot of hate out there,” Laughlin said.
“Yeah! It is preseason game, but it doesn’t look like it,” Vrana replied.
Then Locker asked Jake a bigger question and the young forward’s brain completely stopped working.
It was as if the hamster inside Jake’s cranium fell off its wheel.

Here’s the exchange.
Craig Laughlin: “You’re coming off a great season. Have you set any personal goals for yourself or areas to improve on this upcoming season?”
Jakub Vrana: “Um, everything, you know? I kind of been improve on… but I’m in the middle of a game now, you make me think about something else. But, uh, yeah.”
Craig Laughlin: [laughs] “I’ll let you focus on the third, Jake. I’ll ask you later. Thanks, buddy!”
Jakub Vrana: [laughs] “Thanks! Okay! Yeah. Have a good one. All right. Bye.”
This was a great interview. Interview Jake during every intermission, please!
