Pierre McGuire, the hockey broadcaster we all wish would shut up love to listen to, may have been removed from the top broadcast team at NBC Sports.
The Athletic’s New York Rangers reporter Rick Carpiniello tweeted on Wednesday that McGuire will be replaced “on the No. 1 team.”
Per impeccable source, Pierre McGuire has been removed from NBC Sports' No. 1 hockey team, to be replaced by Brian Boucher.

McGuire’s replacement on NBC Sports’ top broadcast team will be former NHL goaltender Brian Boucher.
Boucher started working with NBC Sports between the benches during the 2015 playoffs, and was a broadcaster during the 2018 Olympics. He’s a former first-round pick of the Philadelphia Flyers and played goalie for seven different NHL teams during his 13-year career.
Regarding the previous tweet, Pierre McGuire is still going to be doing games for NBC. But Brian Boucher will be on the No. 1 team with Doc Emrick and Eddie Olczyk

McGuire will still be on the air: NBC Sports’ top broadcast team typically works the East Coast games, while the second team typically covers West Coast matches. As it stands, this relocation wouold just mean that Caps fans will see less of McGuire during the 2019-20 season.
Stay weird, Pierre.
