Nicklas Backstrom and Braden Holtby attend Washington Nationals game

From going to the Smithsonian to the US Open, Washington Capitals players have been active during Labor Day weekend. Sunday, two of the team’s biggest stars went to Nationals Park to watch the Nats take on the Miami Marlins.

Nicklas Backstrom and Braden Holtby were both spotted by fans in the lower bowl. Backstrom even obliged on a photo request from reader DJ.

Backstrom and Holtby watched Nationals’ third baseman Anthony Rendon hit a go-ahead homer and starter Patrick Corbin strike out his 200th batter of the season in the 9-3 win.

The Nats have been the best team in baseball since May 24 and own the first Wildcard spot in the National League.
