Flyers’ captain Claude Giroux and his wife Ryanne welcomed their first child, baby Gavin, on Monday, August 26.
Between the couple’s adorable documentation of the pregnancy process and Flyers’ mascot Gritty decorating the baby’s locker with a poker set and tiny skates, the new ‘Roux has gotten a warm welcome on the world wide web.
Ryanne shared a video of Claude holding newborn Gavin and rocking him to John Mayer’s “Gravity.”
pretty sure claude giroux quietly sang along to "gravity" whilst rocking his newborn baby & no i will not be taking further questions at this time on account of deadness pic.twitter.com/jjDXItdIjd

Flyers’ mascot Gritty was very happy about the development and decorated a locker for baby Giroux next to his dad’s in the team’s locker room.

In addition to traditional gifts like diapers, rubber ducky, and mini stick, Gritty added personal touches, including a lava lamp and a tiny stuffed toy version of himself.
He also included a copy of Chrissy Teigen’s bestselling cookbook “Hungry for More.”
Teigen tweeted her appreciation back at the team.
GRITTY!!!! I love you so!! https://t.co/gu76BAPaWF

While Gritty prepared the locker room, Claude had already been very diligent about helping get the house ready for its newest member.
It may be inaccurate to say that Gavin is the Girouxs’ first child–in fact, he’ll be the youngest of three. His older brothers are two very good cockapoos, Harv and Charlie Giroux, who have their own Instagram account.
Here, Harv can be seen using expectant mother Ryanne’s baby bump as a stepping stool.
Preparing for a new family member is hard work. Getting enough sleep is crucial for both captains and cockapoos.
Congratulations to the Girouxs! We’ll put an RMNB baby onesie in the mail–no one looks good in orange.
