Sportsnet contributor and YouTube sensation Steve Dangle will be in Washington DC today (!!!) Saturday, August 24, to sign copies of his hit book This Team is Ruining My Life (But I Love Them): How I Became a Professional Hockey Fan and party with fans.
We have gone to great lengths behind-the-scenes to provide readers with a great experience. And, oh yeah, also provide fans with one-of-a-kind merch for the event.
So we wanted to share some helpful tips and let you in on some awesome things to look forward to. We want your day to be as easy and fun as possible.
See you tomorrow, D.C. (and Virginia technically and Maryland I think)!!!

The book signing event being held at One More Page Books from 2-4pm (but we’ll stay until everyone with tickets has met Steve and gotten stuff signed). The book signing aspect of Dangle Day sold out in four days last month. But no worries! Later that night, we will be hosting a party at Walter’s Sports Bar with Steve from 6-9pm which is open to the public. So if you didn’t get a ticket to the book signing, we’d love to see you at the afterparty.
If you take a photo on Dangle Day, please tag us on Twitter (@russianmachine) or Instagram (@rmnb_blog). Include the hashtag #RMNBDangleDay. We’ll RT and share our favorites!
We will also have a photographer, Ricki Wood, there capturing all the fun for the website. Almost the entire staff of RMNB will be at both events too – a rarity. So please say hi to them. And totally get their autographs. They’re famous too IMO.
When
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Where
One More Page Books & the Westlee Condominium Building Event Room (it’s next door!)
2200 N. Westmoreland Street, #101

RMNB Crashers who support us on Patreon will receive early access to meet Steve Dangle. This is a hint hint to support us on Patreon. 🙂
Transportation & Parking
One More Page Books is a 10-minute walk from the East Falls Church Metro (Orange/Silver lines.)
There is limited street parking and a very small garage behind the store off N. Westmoreland Street with spaces marked as “retail” with a green sign. Do NOT park in the Crescent garage across the street from the bookstore – they do tow. It is strongly recommended that you Metro or take a cab or rideshare to the bookstore. If you drive and cannot find parking on the street or in the garage, there are two blocks of street parking in the neighborhood on 19th Street (close to the Metro).
Will-Call/Check-In
Attendees who have tickets should pick-up their tickets/books/merch in the Event Room of the Westlee Condominium Building – don’t worry, there will be signage directing you! One More Page staff will have additional books, pucks, and posters for sale there. Upon check-in, you will be given a colored wristband that will determine the order in which you will be called into the bookstore to meet Steve and have your book(s) signed, photos taken, etc.
Signing & Photo Logistics
Steve and I will be set up at a table in One More Page. Steve will sign books, chat with attendees, and take pictures. I will be in photos, sign things if you want – just ask! You will be called into the bookstore according to wristband color, where you will be able to get your book signed by Steve.
If you purchased a photo with Steve, you will have the opportunity to take it when you get up to the signing table. We are cool with props! Please note that if you did *not* purchase a photo op, you will not be allowed to pose for a photo with Steve due to time constraints. We have to roll through 250-300 people so we have to move quickly.
What Should I Wear, Ian?
Thanks for asking. Um, definitely, an RMNB t-shirt or something Leafs or Dangle related!
RMNB Merch
Special RMNB merch will be available for purchase at the Westlee Condominium Building Event Room including stickers, vintage posters, pins, pucks, and knit socks.
Raffle
We will be holding a raffle where one lucky hockey fan will win one of the Steve Dangle cat pose cardboard cutouts autographed by Mr. Dangle himself! You can purchase raffle tickets from Elyse of RMNB at the Westlee Condominium Building Event Room. We will also be selling raffle tickets at the party at Walters Sports Bar too! We will announce the winner around 8 PM. If you’re from out of town, we ask that you please come to the party because a cardboard cutout is nearly impossible to ship safely and we ain’t doing that! So basically, be physically present at the party.
Take Pics With The Cardboard Cutouts
We’ll also have one available as a prop for posed photos too.
After the book signing, we will be hosting a party at Walters Sports Bar which is located behind center field of Nationals Park. Let us know you’re going on our Facebook Event Page. Steve will be signing books, hanging out with fans, and taking photos with the public.
Walter’s features 20 TVs, a 220 inch 4K video wall, and a 24 tap pour your own beer system. The maximum capacity is 400 people so yes, you and all your friends can come.
We will be selling any extra pucks, posters, and books we have left from the book signing event via Paypal. Raffle tickets will be available. Feel free to bring your own Dangle books to be signed.

6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
