Today’s been heavy so here’s some good news.
New Jersey Devils defenseman PK Subban is now engaged to Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn.
According to Vogue Magazine, Subban proposed to Vonn on August 14 at home with an emerald ring. Vonn’s favorite color is green and emerald is Subban’s May birthstone.

“I got the ring and said you know what I’m just going to do it home. Everything kind of came together on that day. Everyone says the stars aligned — well, it was actually a full moon,” Subban told Vogue. “I was worried because I knew she would want to be dressed up and not in her pajamas, and it just so happened she had a business meeting, so she was fully dressed up.”
“Lindsey’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” Subban continued. “There are people in life that deserve to be with good people. They have that person who takes care of them and makes them smile, and she deserves to be with someone who loves her more than anything else in the world, and I do.”
Subban first met Vonn two years ago at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Awards in July 2017. Subban spoke to Lindsey, who was dating former NFL assistant coach Kenan Smith then, and her younger sister Karin, who PK ultimately credited for helping the two become an item.
Months later, once Lindsey was single, PK reached out to her and the two spoke by phone every day for four months while Lindsey was in Europe skiing.
“After a few months of dating, I knew he was the one I wanted to be with,” Vonn said of Subban. “He makes me happy, and he’s so positive and energetic.”
The couple has no date in mind for their wedding as of now. They are currently moving to New Jersey where Subban was traded over the offseason.
“I just want to enjoy the moment and the engagement,” Vonn said. “We’re not in a big hurry to get married. It kind of depends on his playing schedule, and when we have time to sit down and go through it. I don’t want to stress him out because he has a big season coming.”
Subban is accepting congratulations via telephone. Tuesday, he gave out his phone number on Instagram. “+1 (647) 696-7699 text me! Get in the mix🤙🏿” he wrote.
From everyone at RMNB, we wish the couple congratulations and hope the two grow old together.
