Alex Ovechkin traded in his hockey stick for a paintbrush on Thursday. The Russian machine made a painting with two kids from the Children’s Sledge Hockey League, Viktoria Zamataeva from the “Soviet Wings” and Nikita Fomenko from “Tropic”, to help raise money for the organization.
“The first stage of our creative project Hockey The World Of Bright Colors is over!” the league wrote on its Facebook page. “Another masterpiece was created with Alexander Ovechkinπ A lucky chance to paint with the famous hockey player got Viktoria Zamataeva from “Soviet Wings” and Nikita Fomenko from “Tropic”π Ovi not only wished the sledge-hockey players good luck, but also [inspired] them with his inexhaustible energyβ The exhibition will be organized in August in Moscow and later the paintings will be sold at the auction. All proceeds will be used for the development of the Junior sledge-hockey in Russia!π”
The league posted a gallery of photos from the day and I predict you’re going to enjoy them.

What a masterpiece.
Slava Fetisov recently made a painting himself.
According to the Children’s Sledge Hockey League website, the organization’s goal is to open the world of ice hockey for special children.
The league aspires to accomplish the following.
During his time in Russia, Ovechkin frequently donates his time to charity. He also supports the American Special Hockey Association during his time in Washington.
Russian Machine Never Breaks is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
