Former Capitals forward Brett Connolly was introduced to the South Florida media on Tuesday for the first time since becoming a Florida Panther. And Conno wasn’t alone. He was joined at the press conference by new acquisitions Sergei Bobrovsky, Anton Stralman, and Noel Acciari.
Connolly sported a red Florida Panthers jersey for the first time, and, you guys, this is going to take some time to get used to.
Here’s Connolly signing the contract.

He’s referring to the Capitals in the past tense and now I’m really having trouble processing this.
When it comes to joining the @FlaPanthers, Brett Connolly says one of his goals is to be the type of player who can get the team over the hump and into sustained postseason success.#FlaPanthers #NHL pic.twitter.com/M7eTTZ3kmI

“I don’t think we’re coming in here to change anything,” Connolly said. “I was fortunate to get over the hump and these guys have played a lot of playoff games. It takes a lot of things to win. I think for me, coming in here, helping guys and doing my thing and trying to get into the playoffs again and just do my part — whatever that is.”
That’s not Alan May!
