We decided to hold a contest earlier in the week after Vivid Seats was kind enough to offer RMNB a pair of two free tickets for Game Five. The challenge for RMNB readers was to post a photo wearing an RMNB t-shirt or hold up one of our Not Suck Back 2 Back signs and tag us on our Instagram page.
Friday, we picked and notified our two winners, Kim and Tucker.
Kim took a photo of three of her adorable children holding up signs that said “BACK 2 BACK” with an Alex Ovechkin banner hanging from the landing of their stairs. They were all wearing RMNB t-shirts. I asked Kim how she would pick who would go to the game.
“Unsure on who I’m taking… have five kids so might have to draw out of a hat,” Kim said laughing. “Just need the Caps to win!”
The other grand prize winner was Tucker who jumped into a fountain at the University of Mary Washington for his photo.
Tucker was really, really excited to win, telling me “Thank you so much!!” multiple times.
All of the entries were amazing to me, but I want to give a few shout outs really quick here.
Joanna, thank you for being a leader in women’s hockey in the area! Daiki, you printing out all the signs and making that background was stunning and you are awesome. @murry.8, I love the beards. Julie, that photo of your family with the Stanley Cup is amazing. Reach out to me on Instagram or something and I’ll see if I can help make that first happen a different way. Michelle, I love the Deadguins tombstone. For those of you who wore RMNB shirts to Game Five of the Stanley Cup Final, I have no words. To all my friends, you know who you are, thank you for submitting and I miss y’all.
We will hopefully have more contests in the future so keep an eye out on RMNB throughout the 2019 postseason.
