The Capitals’ new intro video for the 2019 playoffs will hit you right in the feels (again)

The Washington Capitals began their Stanley Cup championship title defense on Thursday with a 4-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game One of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series.

And you guys, they brought their montage videos back from last season.

Video

Last year, all throughout the 2018 playoffs, the Capitals played this emotional video before every home game. The video flashed back on moments from various points of the players’ and coaches’ careers.

For the 2019 playoffs, the intro video tradition made a return. But this new video flashes back to moments from last summer’s glorious win, a reminder to everyone from the fans, to the team themselves, just what winning another Stanley Cup could feel like.

From raising the silverware overhead at the Capitals championship parade, to sharing Cup days with their families and hometowns, to the banner raising night, there were so many highlights over the summer and through the regular season. We definitely got a little choked up watching it.

The Capitals certainly haven’t stopped smiling since lifting the Cup. Let’s hope they have a reason to keep smiling for a long while yet.

Never forget.
