Stanley Cup champion Devante Smith-Pelly is catching fire at the very right time.
Three days after scoring a hat trick for the Hershey Bears, DSP is back on the score sheet.
He flashed his trademark gap-toothed smile after scoring.
While in front of the goalie crease, Smith-Pelly tapped in a shot from Mike Sgarbossa.
Here is another angle.
Smith-Pelly was extremely happy.
DSP’s goal tied the game at two. The Bears climbed back from a 2-0 deficit to beat the Springfield Thunderbirds 5-3.
Since arriving in Hershey seven games ago, DSP is a point-per-game player, tallying four goals and four assists. He’s on a four-game point streak.
The NHL roster limit was lifted at February 25th, but head coach Todd Reirden said Smith-Pelly has to work a bit to make his way back to the big club.
It sure looks like he’s forcing his way back into the conversation in Washington.
So great to see @smithpelly23 tonight, especially right before he scored a goal! #letsgobears #RockTheRed @russianmachine pic.twitter.com/klqg6oHAXC
