Andre Burakovsky scored the game-winning goal in the Capitals’ 3-0 win over the New Jersey Devils Friday night.
According to a tweet by the Capitals, the Swedish forward has a bizarre series of pregame superstitions that may be behind the streak.

During warmups, Burakovsky high-fives every member of the Capitals training staff before tapping his stick on top of the boards five times. Burakovsky makes sure to tap his stick in-between several Gatorade bottles.
Obviously, this must now continue until the end of time.
Burakovsky also gets bitten on the arm by Alex Ovechkin before every game.
Burakovsky remained on the Capitals after the trade deadline after months of rumors and the bottom six forward has responded. Burakovsky has four goals in his last seven games.
Burakovsky’s first goal came against the Sabres after deflecting a Christian Djoos shot into the net.
He skated around the Rangers defense and ripped a shot past Alexandar Georgiev, starting his three-game goal streak.
Against the Flyers, Burakovsky went short side with a snipe.
Burra’s latest goal came after a beautiful pass from the high slot from Michal Kempny.
It was his 11th goal of the season.
“I was just screaming for the puck and I hope that he pass,” Burakovsky said of Michal Kempny. “There was not much else to do here.”
What’s the key to the turnaround? Burakovsky said he stopped worrying about scoring.
“Just trying to focus on the small things,” Burakovsky said. “Managing the puck, putting myself in the right position on the ice, following the system right way, and just little things that going to help to offense.”
