The Washington Capitals recalled defenseman Christian Djoos from his conditioning stint in Hershey on Friday. Jonas Siegenthaler, the only waiver exempt player on the Capitals roster for the 2018-19 season, was re-assigned to the Hershey Bears to make space for Djoos’ return.
At Saturday’s morning skate, Djoos was skating on the third pair with Orpik, suggesting he will get a sweater when the Capitals play the Florida Panthers tonight. Djoos has not yet been officially activated from long-term injured reserve.

Devante Smith-Pelly, Chandler Stevenson and Madison Bowey will all sit out Saturday night’s tilt against the Panthers. Nic Dowd returns to the fourth line, alongside Jaskin and Boyd.
With Djoos’ potential return, it will mark the first time during the 2018-19 season that the Capitals have had access to their full lineup without any injuries or suspensions.
Djoos has not appeared in an NHL game since December 11 against the Detroit Red Wings. While on his conditioning stint with the Hershey Bears, Djoos recorded four shots and two PIMs.
