José Mourinho is a legendary soccer coach.
Monday, that legend got a little dinged as the former Manchester United manager fell on his tuchus after dropping the puck before the Avangard Omsk and SKA Saint Petersburg game.
Former Detroit Red Wings forward Pavel Datsyuk and Evgeny Medvedev were at center ice for the ceremony.
After dropping the biscuit, Mourinho clapped and began walking away before realizing he should probably shake the players’ hands and get his special keepsake. As he planted his foot and turned around, the red carpet slipped on the ice, causing Mourinho to fall brutally to the ice.
The KHL tweeted “that was unfortunate, but we hope Mr. José Mourinho is alright.” That tweet has since been deleted.

The currently unemployed Mourinho was FIFA world coach of the year in 2010. He’s won the Champions League with two different teams and won the league title in four different leagues.
This is not the first time Mourinho has had an embarrassing fall. He also faceplanted in public at Wembley in September of last year. The coach tried to arrive early before the England-Spain game, but was defeated by a security rope.
