With Christmas, New Year’s, and a plethora of other holidays right around the corner, the NHL has dropped their highly-anticipated annual holiday video. While it’s not as good as the Caps butchering an entire Christmas album, it does have its moments.
This year’s edition features a rendition of “The Night Before Christmas” aptly retitled “The Night Before Puck-Drop.” Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin steals the show with his unparalleled enthusiasm.

While some players look happy and excited, Ovi is really feeling it in the video.
He steals the show about halfway through with his “naughty or nice” line.
Look how happy he is about the impending holidays!
That gap-toothed smile cannot be contained.
The video also features approximately nine billion former Capitals, including Nate Schmidt smiling like a gigantic goofball, Justin Williams sitting in a cozy chair and reading a children’s book by a fireplace, and Kevin Shattenkirk…wearing a beanie.
