Dave Matthews receives Capitals jersey, takes photo with Ted Leonsis and Stanley Cup

Dave Matthews Band is in DC for a concert Thursday evening and had a special visitor beforehand. The members of the DMB stepped into what is usually the Capitals locker room in Capital One Arena and took photos with owner Ted Leonsis and the Stanley Cup.

The band has roots in the area and formed in Charlottesville, VA in 1991.

Leonsis tweeted a group picture where Matthews seems more preoccupied with something out of frame than with Lord Stanley right in front of him.

Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds were also presented with customized jerseys.

The concert starts at 8 pm. The tour is in promotion of the band’s most recent album, “Come Tomorrow,” which was released this year.
