Since the Capitals took on the Winnipeg Jets on November 14, they’ve played without center Evgeny Kuznetsov and winger TJ Oshie, who both took hits to the head.
Wednesday, general manager Brian MacLellan confirmed both players had concussions in an interview on The Athletic’s hockey podcast, Two-Man Advantage, with Scott Burnside and Pierre LeBrun.
“We just had two guys out with concussions, Oshie and Kuznetsov,” MacLellan said.
But during the Caps morning skate Monday, Kuznetsov took part in practice, marking a step towards his return to the lineup.

While practicing is an important step, Kuznetsov was not listed in the line rushes according to the Post’s Isabelle Khurshudyan.
