It’s long been known that Alex Ovechkin has a love for basketball. He played in a charity tournament and was coached by his mother, Tatyana, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, and can be found at Wizards games fairly often.

Look at that form from the captain.
The only thing that could make this shot better would be a call from the incomparable Mike Breen, complete with an exclamation of “BANG!”
This isn’t the first time Ovi’s been caught on video shootin’ hoops or watching basketball.
Back in 2010, Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom shot some hoops on the Wizards practice court at Capital One Arena.
There’s also a compilation of highlights from Ovechkin’s participation in the 2016 charity tournament, and Ovi balled out.
