The Washington Capitals made several rosters moves Friday morning with two of their veteran defensemen out with injuries.
The Capitals announced that John Carlson, the team’s leading point-getter on the blueline, is out day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Brooks Orpik, who has missed the last four games with a lower-body injury, has been moved to long-term injured reserve.
The team has recalled Aaron Ness and Jonas Siegenthaler from Hershey in their place.
The Capitals’ defense lined up like this during the team’s morning skate.
