The Capitals resume their tour of Canada this evening to face off against the Montreal Canadiens. They will finally return home to Capital One Arena on November 3rd when they host the Dallas Stars.
Both the Capitals and the Canadiens are having a similar start to the season, in terms of their record, but the Capitals take the advantage on the power play percentage while the Canadiens have an edge on the shot attempt. Anything can happen, the Canadiens are wild.
Just to throw you off a tad, puck drop will be around 7:30PM. You can stream the game live and tune in at 6:30PM to the pregame with the good folks at NBC Sports Washington. Your recap will be brought to you from Mr. Peter Hassett.

Storylines
- The Hershey Bears will be hosting their first ever Hockey Fights Cancer night! If you’re in the area, you should GO.
- Apparently, Barry Trotz knew the Capitals would win the cup after their Game Three 2OT victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets. That makes one of us.
- Capitals prospect Alexander Alexeyev was named Player of the Week for the WHL. I am so exhausted that at first glance thought he won Player of the Week for the whale league (not the Western Hockey League) and that seems like it would be fun.
- Aaron Ness was recalled to Washington. Very excited to announce that I have also recalled my folder of “Aaron Ness Pun Jokes” so please prepare accordingly.
- BREAKING NEWS: Alex Ovechkin is still a good person.
- EXTRA BREAKING NEWS: Alex Ovechkin is still a really good person.
- Halloween happened last night and if you were hoping for a comprehensive, one-stop shop post for the best Caps/Stanley Cup themed pumpkins…we got you.
- Travis Boyd deserves a medal for dressing up like Barry Trotz for Halloween.
- There was one costume in particular that needed its own post. It was this kid who dressed up like Tom Wilson in his usual element.
- The Carolina Hurricanes continue to be extremely fun and for one of their cellys, they can definitely thank Evgeny Kuznetsov.
- Alex Ovechkin meets Alex Pumpvechkin. I genuinely do not know how people successfully carve a pumpkin, so this is absolutely blowing my mind.
Karl Alzner
A nice moment where ex Capital Karl Alzner led the stretches this morning.
