The Washington Capitals held their annual Halloween Party Sunday night at Mari Vanna. There was food, drinks, and later, as the clock turned towards midnight, karaoke.
While the players’ costumes were great, their singing left a lot to be desired.
One eternal bright spot was when the team, mostly fireman Alex Ovechkin, scream-shouted “We Are The Champions” together. Nastya Ovechkina has your blessed video.
That’s the stuff.
In the above gallery of videos, Ovechkin also sings some Russian songs and boy is he off key in the best way.
Other highlights of karaoke include Tom Wilson and Jakub Vrana signing the Backstreet Boys hit “I Want It That Way,” Elf Pheonix Copley basically becoming a mute during his song, and Christian Djoos singing ABBA’s “Super Trouper.”
Finally, oompa loompa Nathan Walker and Barry Trotz impersonator Travis Boyd really, really got into their song, Men at Work’s “Down Under.” The dancing is tremendous here.
