The Capitals are spending their off day throwing axes in Whistler. Alex Ovechkin looks like a lumberjack.

The Washington Capitals had an off day on Tuesday, following their 5-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks the night before. The Caps took advantage of their free time to engage in a team building activity at Forged Axe Throwing in Whistler, British Columbia.

Yes, you read that correctly. Axe Throwing.

This takes the Caps’ annual darts tournament to a whole new, violent level.

Alex Ovechkin’s pinpoint precision translated well from the ice to the ax.

“All right, babes,” he said, pointing at the camera. “This for you.”

Then he buried the axe in the center of the target, before brushing his shoulder off. Nothing to it, right?

Meanwhile, TJ Oshie got fancy with an underarm trick shot. He declared that he was better at those than a straightforward throw.

Nicklas Backstrom and Andre Burakovsky had a friendly Swedish face off, with Burakovsky coming out on top.

Oshie and his lane partner also celebrated together when they both hit the center of their respective targets.

Swipe through the Instagram post for more axe-wielding fun, including a couple of double-axe throws, as well as Christian Djoos showing off his own throwing prowess. (Don’t worry, all Caps fingers are still currently intact. At least for now.)

According to the Capitals Twitter, Oshie came up clutch to win tournament.

What a champion.
