Michal Kempny will likely play Wednesday against the Vegas Golden Knights

On Sunday Michal Kempny returned to practice wearing a full-contact jersey. Kempny missed the first two games of the season after sustaining a concussion from a high hit against the St. Louis Blues. The defenseman will look to return Wednesday against Vegas at Capital One Arena.

Kempny lines up alongside John Carlson on the second defensive pairing. Christian Djoos drops back to play with Brooks Orpik on the third pairing. Madison Bowey misses out as the seventh defenseman and will sit as a healthy scratch.

The rest of the line up remains the same from practice on Saturday.

The Capitals will continue to monitor Kempny as he recovers from his upper body injury. Coach Todd Reirden wants Kempny and Dmitrij Jaskin to make their regular season debuts against the Golden Knights.
