Thursday during the Capitals-Penguins game, Stanley Cup Champion Braden Holtby appeared in a new ad for Koons of Silver Spring. The automotive dealer named Holtby their new spokesman and the upcoming campaigns come with a perfect slogan “Save Like Holtby”.
“We wanted a spokesperson who fit our brand, someone known for working hard, just like we do,” said Alex Perdikis, President and Owner of Koons of Silver Spring in a release. “Braden Holtby was a natural choice for us.”
And in Holtby’s first commercial for the brand, he shows why.
The ad opens with a shot of a full-bearded Holtby sporting a faded jean jacket, a bandana hanging from his back pocket, his classic fedora, and an obscure amulet dangling from his neck.
In an homage to Bruce Boudreau, Holtby asks the car salesman about a key feature inside the car.
“What about the cupholders,” Holtby asks. “They need to be REALLY big.”
Holtby follows that up with an adorable laugh.
“The entire team at Koons of Silver Spring is fantastic, just easy to work with,” Holtby said, “And the campaign is really fun, so it was a great match.”
