Jay Beagle went mountain-biking for the Canucks, but can he please bike back here now

Calgary native Jay Beagle is living his countryboy dreams as he begins his time with the Vancouver Canucks. Before the preseason started, the Canucks took their team to Whistler, British Columbia, to get away from the city and focus on training.

Beagle did his first interview for Canucks TV on a mountain bike.

“I love to get outside and have fun,” Beagle said. He hasn’t changed a bit.

After putting his bike on the ski lift, Beagle rode up to the top of the mountain and presumably won several defensive-zone faceoffs when he got off. Beagle then picked out a route that included jumps, because he loves winning and punching above his weight… like playing on the first line with Alex Ovechkin.

Check out these nifty moves.

Not much actual interviewing happened, but this was the perfect way to introduce Beagle to the Canucks crowd. Or capture the beginning of Beagle’s bike ride back to Washington because c’mon, Jay, we miss you.

This is all a bad dream… right?
