Devante Smith-Pelly is at Capitals MedStar Iceplex, and Michal Kempny and Andre Burakovsky are on their way

Devante Smith-Pelly, the playoff hero who chose to stay with the Washington Capitals despite better offers, is one of many Capitals players eager to start preparing for the season. Smith-Pelly is the latest to join the informal practices at Capitals MedStar Iceplex.

Meanwhile, Michal Kempny and Andre Burakovsky are flying back from overseas, both posting travel pictures on their Instagram accounts.

Kempny posted a photo with his girlfriend from the plane.

Defenseman Madison Bowey also rejoined the team for the first time this summer.

Practice today began with these goalie drills, which are not silly looking at all.

Some of the Capitals’ prospects who had been at MedStar have relocated to Germain Arena in Fort Myers, FL. The rookie showcase tournament will be held from Saturday, September 8th through Tuesday, September 11th.
