Barry Trotz will take the Stanley Cup to Dauphin, Manitoba on August 22

On August 22, former Capitals head coach Barry Trotz will host his day with the Stanley Cup in his home town of Dauphin, Manitoba.

According to the Dauphin Kings, a team that Trotz was both general manager and head coach of in 1985, the day will begin at 12:30 PM with a parade. Pictures with Trotz and the Stanley Cup will be available at Credit Union Place between 1 and 5 PM, and cost $2 each, with the aim of raising money to give back to the local community. Trotz will match the proceeds raised up to $75,000.

A hot dog sale, 50/50, and raffle table will also be available at the event.

From 5 PM until 6 PM, for fans able to splash out a little more, they can donate $1000 for a limited meet and greet with Trotz and the Cup. That price tag will include access to a silent auction, food and drink, autographs, and pictures. Each ticket will cover two people, with 40 pairs available.
