Report: TJ Oshie gave Taylor Chorney an opportunity to celebrate the Caps’ Stanley Cup win at his private party

Taylor Chorney was a member of the Capitals for parts of three seasons. But late last year, Chorney was claimed by the Columbus Blue Jackets after Washington put the depth defenseman on waivers. Chorney juuuust missed out on being part of the Capitals championship-winning team.

But we have good news to share. Chorney recently got time with the Stanley Cup. According to a report by the Grand Forks Herald’s Brad Elliott Schlossman, TJ Oshie invited his former teammate to his private party in Minneapolis on Tuesday night. The party concluded Oshie’s day with the Stanley Cup.

Here’s some videos and photos from the event which were shared by Shane Gersich and TJ’s wife Lauren.

Oshie and Chorney are not only former NHL (both in Washington and in St. Louis) and Da Beauty League teammates, they also played together at the University of North Dakota together from 2005-2008.

Over the offseason, Chorney left the NHL for an opportunity at a bigger role in Europe. Chorney will be taking his Chorn Horn to Switzerland after signing a contact with HC Lugano.
