Capitals select right wing Riley Sutter in third-round of 2018 NHL Draft

The Washington Capitals fourth selection of the 2018 NHL Draft was the final pick of the third round. With the 92nd overall pick, the Caps selected right wing Riley Sutter from the WHL Everett Silvertips.

Sutter, who is the son of former NHLer Ron Sutter, is a part of the massive hockey dynasty that is the Sutter family. Riley is a six-foot-three-inch, 201-pound right wing who is the second legacy selection that the Caps have made today after taking Wendel Clark’s son Kody in the second round.

Sutter, who was the 80th ranked North American skater by Central Scouting, finished his third season with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League in 2017-18, tallying 53 points in 68 games.

Here’s a highlight video of Sutter from the 2017-18 season.

And his interview with Caps media.
