Unless you’ve been living under a rock the last 18 hours, you know by now that the Washington Capitals clinched their first Stanley Cup Final berth in 20 years Wednesday night against Tampa Bay. It was also Capitals’ captain Alex Ovechkin‘s first ever trip to the big dance, and he didn’t hesitate to show the world how pumped he was.
During the post-game press conference, Ovi was visibly flustered, finding it hard to answer reporter’s questions due to the large wave of sheer joy going through his head. So he tried to deflect questions to goalie Braden Holtby who was sitting to his right. saying “Ask Holts, I’m kind of emotional, it’s hard to explain.”
Holtby, wanting to both support and tease his captain a bit, chuckled and replied “You’re doing great, babe.”

Yes, Holtby, Ovi is definitely doing great. Or should we say…. doing GR8??
Holtby’s reassurance is yet another memorable line in a memorable playoff run. So of course, we made a shirt.
