The Capitals’ terribad start to Game Five has been slightly mitigated by a lovely goal from birthday boy Evgeny Kuznetsov.
(Still a big hole to climb out of)

After an offensive-zone faceoff, Matt Niskanen fired a big shot, but perhaps heading wide. Kuznetsov, who turned 26 today, deflected the puck netward and high. Andrei Vasilevskiy didn’t stand a chance.
All of a sudden, there’s some chance of Joy in Mudville.
Kuznetsov has 11 goals this postseason, and six in his last seven games with another six assists to boot.
Not bad, but we need more.
Kutznetsov joins Garry Galley & Jason Chimera as the only #Caps to score a playoff goal on his birthday. @RobCarlinNBCS @WaltonCaps
