If the Washington Capitals are able to defeat the Columbus Blue Jackets in the first round, they will play the winner of the Philadelphia Flyers-Pittsburgh Penguins series.
Tonight that series took another wild turn as the Flyers defeated the Penguins 5-1 at PPG Paints Arena. On Wednesday, the Penguins won 7-0 after Sidney Crosby tallied his third career postseason hat trick.
Brian Elliott made 34 saves during Game Two, including a crucial second-period stop on a Crosby breakaway attempt, to lead Philadelphia to victory. Sean Couturier also had a goal and two assists.
The Flyers scored first as 👻🐻 (Shayne Gostisbehere) hit paydirt on the power play. Gostisbehere scored on a shot from the point with 37 seconds left the first period.
