Capitals to honor Humboldt Broncos with helmet stickers, goalie mask, and multiple fundraisers during Game One

The hockey community is still reeling from the devastating loss of 16 lives when a bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos was involved in a fatal collision with a truck.

On Thursday, the Washington Capitals and MSE Foundation will be honoring Humboldt with several tributes and fundraisers.

Firstly, the Capitals have customized a goalie mask in Humboldt Broncos colors. The mask will be autographed by all of the players and donated to the Broncos.

The Capitals will also add a Humboldt Broncos sticker to their helmets, which will be worn during their matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The 50/50 raffle at Game One will also see half the proceeds donated directly to the victims of the crash and their families. The donation will go towards their recovery, including grief counseling, psychological support and physical rehabilitation.

The NBC and Capitals media team providing coverage for Thursday’s playoff game are also wearing green to honor the Broncos.

The Washington Capitals and Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation, the team’s official charity, will proudly support the Humboldt Broncos during the 2018 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.

MSE Foundation is donating its half of the Caps 50/50 raffle from Game 1 of the 2018 Eastern Conference quarterfinals to the National Hockey League Foundation to directly benefit the Humboldt Broncos families affected by this terrible tragedy. The donation will aid victims in healing and recovery in the areas of grief counseling, psychological support and physical rehabilitation.

MSE Foundation will be collecting fan donations online during the Capitals run in the 2018 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at https://www.nhl.com/capitals/community/humboldt-broncos-fundraiser.

The Washington Capitals also created a Humboldt Broncos “in-memoriam” goalie mask that will be autographed by all of the Caps players and donated to the Broncos.
