Caps at Kings pregame: LA state of mind

If we are to take away anything from the effort the Caps put out on Tuesday night it’s that they sure played like they might be enjoying that warm Cali weather a little too much. Now to right their west coast road trip they have another Golden State foe to match up with in the Los Angeles Kings. We are also still on Ovechkin #600 watch.

Last real late one of this road trip. A 10:30 PM start on NBCSWA and Peter will once again have your after dark recap.

    Record 36-25-5 37-22-7
    Shot Attempt % 49.7% 48.0%
    PDO 100.7 101.9
    Power Play 20.3% 22.2%
    Penalty Kill 83.4% 79.5%

    Projected Lines

Grubauer enters the starter cage and both Alex Chiasson and Jakub Jerabek will get a game. Your lines by way of Isabelle:

    Ovechkin – Backstrom – Wilson
    Vrana – Kuznetsov – Oshie
    Connolly – Eller – Burakovsky
    DSP – Beagle – Chiasson

    Orlov – Niskanen
    Kempny – Carlson
    Orpik – Jerabek

    Grubauer

    International Women’s Day

Happy International Women’s Day to all of the females out there! Special shoutout to the women that have impacted my life and I must say that we are also extremely lucky to have so many amazingly talented, hard working, awesome women currently writing and working for RMNB. They are legitimately the best.

    Storylines

    • Jay Beagle is really good at taking face-offs.
    • Former Caps goaltender, Brent Johnson has his own take on Braden Holtby‘s current struggles in net.
    • One of RMNB’s crashers (our Patreon supporters that have their own group in our Slack channel) reflects on hockey community after Stadium Series game.
    • NBC4 Washington did a really awesome feature on RMNB at Ethan Oland‘s house. Oh yeah, Ian was also in it.
    • Hershey Bears goalie Pheonix Copley has a sick new mask that draws from his hometown of North Pole, Alaska.
    • Holtby has been pulled in three of the Caps last six games, spurring a possible run of starts for Philipp Grubauer.
    • A certain Capitals Swedish center was voted the most underrated player in the league by his peers.

    Survivor: Ghost Island

Hey so my favorite TV show of all time is already amidst a fantastic season and it’s only been on again for two episodes so there’s plenty of time to catch up. For those turned off by “reality TV” just know that Survivor isn’t your regular nonsense reality show. It’s all about cutthroat game theory to be the sole survivor, the strategy to get there, and adapting to new social environments as you vote off your enemies and eventually your allies. Give this season a shot, it’s a really cool blend of past memories affecting present game.
