Capitals vs Senators pregame: Please win

The Ottawa Senators are one of the worst teams in the league right now and tonight they are facing off against the Washington Capitals in DC. In fact, the Sens are sitting at #29 in the league standings. We have Jakub Jerabek debuting, Philipp Grubauer in net, Christian Djoos sitting out, and morale is high…ish.

Now, I don’t want to be dramatic or anything, but if we do not win this game I will personally show up to Capital One Arena and do absolutely nothing….but ohhhhhh boy, I’ll be mad as heck. I was already a tad irritated after the Capitals didn’t make even a single little gesture during trade deadline day, but then I was really mad after the showing the Capitals gave last night (if we no longer talk about it…it’s like it never happened).

So, in conclusion, I don’t want to be more than “really mad”. I want to be okay. I want the Capitals to make the playoffs, I want the defense to pick it up, I want everyone to stop being so hard on Braden Holtby, and I want to stick to the script and play Pittsburgh again in the second round. But, then we have to lose because I genuinely don’t think my heart could handle us getting through the second round. I’m too young for stress issues.

Game’s at 7 PM on NBC Sports Washington. Pat has your recap tonight and I’m hoping he brings better luck than Peter did yesterday *shakes head*.
