Alex Ovechkin, Braden Holtby, and Barry Trotz will be representing the Washington Capitals at the 2018 NHL All-Star Game this weekend and NBC is now in full promotion mode.
Because the league’s annual celebration is being held in Tampa this year, the league is using a #HockeyHitsTheBeach theme to promote the three-on-three tournament.
Ovechkin and Holtby figured heavily in the promotion.
In what appears to be one of the official All-Star commercials, Ovechkin’s likeness was designed into a TAMPA postcard. Several Ovechkin highlights were also used during the 30-second clip.

There’s also an individual promotion featuring Ovechkin goofily pointing his stick at the camera.

Holtby was used in a similar treatment.

The league has also been posting campy photoshops on Twitter. Holtby is featured as a lifeguard – just like he was in his latest Geico clip.
