The Vegas Golden Knights downed the Carolina Hurricanes 5-1 on Sunday night to own the best record in the NHL. The Nates Knights weren’t even a hockey team at this point last season.
Life is wild.
Led by Jon Marchessault (42 points), Bill Karlsson (25 goals), Nate Schmidt (22.5 minutes per night), and Marc-Andre Fleury (.946 saving), the Golden Knights are really and truly good.
For an expansion team, that’s unprecedented. And it’s not just a fluke. The Knights rank 7th place in shot share (51.8 percent) and 3rd in expected goals (55.1 percent), according to Corsica.
Congratulations to George McPhee and Nate Schmidt. We’ll see you on February 4.
The twitter account is still hot garbage though.
