On Wednesday, the Capitals unveiled the uniforms they will wear in Annapolis on March 3 for the 2018 Stadium Series game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The fan reaction to said uniforms has been mixed. Some like it just fine, some hate the Caps word mark as the central logo, some don’t like the color scheme.
One fan who wasn’t too fond of the uni was Twitter user @KP8Design, who just so happens to be a talented hockey jersey designer. He has released two alternatives to what the Caps will wear in March.
KP8’s first design, picture at top, is similar to what the Caps will end up wearing, but in my opinion it’s a lot more clean-looking – and it looks less like the Russian flag on a hockey jersey.
The second design features the most criminally underused logo in all of the NHL, the Weagle. I would have bought this immediately.
Thanks to @KP8Design for sharing these sweet designs. Make sure to throw him a follow; he does other cool work – not just on the Caps.
