The Caps and Canes played on Thursday night in DC. One day later, the day is Friday and the Caps and Canes are scheduled to play in Raleigh. Got all that?

The Caps will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 3-1 loss to the Canes on home ice.

The game begins at 7:30 PM  on NBCSW. Chris will be recapping the Caps for you.

    Record 20-15-8 27-14-3
    Shot Attempt % 54.1% 48.3%
    PDO 98.3 102.1
    Power Play 16.9% 19.4%
    Penalty Kill 79.6% 79.7%

    Projected Lines

Burakovsky is out sick again. Grubauer will get the start in goal. There’s a chance Travis Boyd was recalled to replace another ailing forward, but we won’t know more until closer to game time.

    Ovechkin – Backstrom – DSP
    Vrana – Kuznetsov – Wilson
    Connolly – Eller – Oshie
    Stephenson – Beagle – Chiasson

    Orlov – Niskanen
    Djoos – Carlson
    Orpik – Bowey

    Behind the Bench

Have you guys read Craig Custance’s book yet? I got it over the holidays and read it in just a few days because it was such an engaging read. Custance sits down with different NHL coaches and watches a defining game of their career with each coach.

Any hockey fan, even those who don’t love to read, would enjoy this book.

    Storylines

    • The Caps have recalled Travis Boyd.
    • Alex Ovechkin juggles pucks
    • Ovechkin also likes obscure penalties, apparently.
    • The Caps think John Carlson should have been selected to the All-Star game.
    • Lars Eller, who the Caps should re-sign, is on a bit of a roll.

    Woken vs. Wyatt

The best 60 seconds on television this week was on Raw. After Matt Hardy won his match, Bray Wyatt appeared. The two proceeded to just laugh at and/or with each other for about 60 seconds. It’s lovely. But don’t take my word for it, check it out yourself.
