Ilya Samsonov takes photo with Caps GM Brian MacLellan in Russia

Earlier today, news broke that Capitals GM Brian MacLellan was in Russia to talk with talented goaltending prospect Ilya Samosonov about a contract for next season.

We can now 100% confirm that GMBM is currently on another continent because the two took a photo together. And Samsonov posted it on his Instagram.

“So happy to meet you!” Samsonov wrote as translated by Graham Dumas. “Thank you for the visit and the lovely dinner!”

I’m feeling very good about Ilya’s chances of being in a Caps sweater during training camp next season.
