Thanksgiving may have come and gone, but the frenzy around the Capitals ice resurfacing gravy boats continues.
The Capitals gave the ceramic gravy spillers away to season-ticket holders last week. The team also presented it as a gift to fans who purchased a Thanksgiving ticket package. Since then, the boats have become one of the most popular team-related items on eBay. You guys, it’s a must-have.
The gravy boats have consistently been going for well over $100 each.
There are currently 10 ice resurfacing gravy boats on eBay that are over the century mark when including shipping.
There are four other boats, early in bidding, that are all currently at or above $71. One eBay user also listed his boat as a Buy It Now item for $200.
In the fall, the Capitals promoted the ice resurfacing gravy boats only as a gift in a special Thanksgiving ticket package. But on social media, the boats were widely popular among Caps fans. In the end, the team decided to have enough boats made to give away to season-ticket holders as well.
