The Washington Capitals had an day off today, which means Kettler was empty. What is the best thing that can happen on an empty rink? If you guessed “when the Caps Dads from come out in full force for a day of babies and skating,” you guessed correctly.
What you probably didn’t guess was that Tom Wilson would also join with a baby he absolutely stole. Just kidding, it’s baby Vince Backstrom, but still it’s fun to imagine Tom Wilson in a Baby’s Day Out situation.

Taylor Chorney joined the papas with his son Turner. I also just realized Turner and I have matching hats.
Nicklas Backstrom got to take his daughter Haley for a skate, while his son was probably keeping an eye on Tom Wilson.

Lucca Carlson got his chance to take some shots with his adopted brother, Andre Burakovsky.

He later watched Burakovsky practice from the bench and followed in his Dad’s footsteps and even put his stick in the rack outside the Caps locker room.

My favorite Caps baby is Jay Beagle‘s son, Brandt, because he is adorable and has some sweet skills. Glad to see he got to hit the ice too. We might need him in a few years. Or he can just wait until next year to join the Maple Leafs.
