After taking part in the 2018 Canine Calendar photoshoot, the Capitals have fallen in love with dogs.
The same week that Tom Wilson announced he had been fostering a puppy named Tulip, Philipp Grubauer published photos and video of a dog he and his girlfriend Isobel have taken in.
The puppy, named Leo, is a very handsome Labrador Retriever Mix from Homeward Trails Rescue. The couple seems to be having a blast with their new, but temporary family member.
According to his Petfinder bio Leo is a one-year-old, 60-pound dog in search of someone “who loves to spend time outdoors.” For Grubauer, who likes to hike in his free time, this is a perfect match.
Lovebug Leo is looking for an active family who loves to spend time outdoors just like he does! Whether it’s going on long walks, fun hikes, or just running around in the backyard he is always up for hanging outside. After just a couple days he adjusted to the leash and now walks like a champ. He does great with other dogs during both walks and yard time and is slowly learning to love toys…his favorite toy so far is a tennis ball. He is mostly house trained and completely crate trained at this point and rides really well in the car. He does startle easily with loud people running around so a laid back house is probably the best fit for him until he is completely adjusted and confident, he definitely loves people and attention though! This playful and affectionate guy is ready to find his partner for all things adventure…and snuggles!

Since Leo is being fostered by Gruabauer, he is not currently available for viewing at the adoption center. But we’re sure, after Grubi’s kind deed, it won’t be long until this pup finds its forever home.
