ARLINGTON, VA — The Washington Capitals welcomed a VIP to the rink on Tuesday.
Bravo, a 13-week-old service dog in training through America’s Vet Dogs, stopped by MedStar Capitals Iceplex during Capitals practice, bringing smiles to the team and media alike.
Bravo, who is part of Caps sponsor CACI’s Good Dogs for Great Americans program, will train locally in Virginia for about a year and then at America’s Vet Dogs’ facility before he’s matched with a veteran or first responder. He does not, however, need any lessons on being a good boy: he’s already got that part down.
After practice, Bravo met players as they came off the ice.
He even came prepared with his own trading cards.

“Dogs have an ability to really just brighten people’s lives…especially for veterans that have life challenges going on, having a pup by your side can make a huge difference,” said Tom Wilson, who has also participated in fluffy charity work with Wolf Trap Animal Rescue through his career.
CACI is also responsible for this year’s “Good Dog of the Game” segment at select Capitals home games.
